Are you looking to get better with your finances this year? Hey Church! Pastor Krissy here, and today I want to delve into the profound wisdom found in Luke 16:11.

In this scripture, Jesus challenges us with a thought-provoking question: “If you haven’t been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?” The key lies in understanding the significance of each term: faithful, unrighteous mammon, and true riches.

Unrighteous mammon, often associated with worldly wealth, serves as a test of our faithfulness and responsibility. It acts as a precursor to the true riches that God desires to bestow upon us. It is a divine principle – how we handle the tangible, earthly resources determines our readiness for spiritual promotion.

Money, while potent in its earthly realm, pales in comparison to the power of God’s heavenly riches. God observes how we manage the lesser to discern our readiness for the greater. As we seek a promotion in our spiritual journey, we must ask ourselves: Are we faithful, responsible, conscientious, and trustworthy in managing our finances?

To help guide us in this journey towards financial freedom in 2024, let’s adopt practical steps aligned with biblical principles.

1. Renewed Mind in Finances: Transform your mindset according to God’s perspective. Allow Him to renew your mind and guide your financial decisions.

Discipline and Accountability: Proverbs 25:28 warns against lacking self-control. Be disciplined in your financial habits, paying off debts, practicing delayed gratification, and surrounding yourself with financially wise individuals.

2. Break Generational Curses: Exodus 20:5 highlights the impact of generational curses. Take authority in Jesus’ name to renounce any curse over your family, breaking free from detrimental effects.

3. Prayer for Renewed Mind: Pray 2 Corinthians 10:5 over yourself, demolishing arguments against God’s knowledge and making your thoughts obedient to Christ.

4. Join a Small Group: Seek discipline and accountability by joining a small group within the church. Sometimes, what you need is not just prayer but practical help.

As we go on this journey together, remember that true riches await those who prove themselves faithful stewards of the earthly resources entrusted to them. Let us be intentional in our financial decisions, trusting that God’s plan for us includes prosperity in both the earthly and spiritual realms.
